Cleanliness programme at Sabarimala
The Chief minister of Kochi Oommen Chandy will initiate the launch of cleanliness programme at Sabarimala. This sanitation drive will be to keeping Sabarimala temple and its premises clean and green. Apart from carrying out cleaning programmes, the Matt will also conduct awareness classes on scientific waste disposal and hygienic activities.
Every year thousands of devotees throng at Sabrimala therefore it absolutely necessary to keep the premises spick and span. The ‘Amala Bharatham Sanitation Programme’ launched by Mata Amritanandamayi Matt has also been included in the project.Mata Amritanandamayi’s devotees from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karanataka will be selected as volunteers for this project. Besides these the members of Amrita Kudumbam units, about a thousand ashram inmates and students of Amrita Viswa Vidyapeetom will take part in the programme. A total of 4,000 volunteers are expected to camp at Sabarimala during this pilgrimage season.
