Ludhiana Residents being told to pay half salary for Sanitation Employees

No Comments Sub Category:Awareness,Community Posted On: Nov 08, 2011

Ludhiana is plagued by garbage all around and the residents belonging to SBS Nagar have already been facing the burn of epidermic outbreak in the city. Meanwhile Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) authorities have informed the residents to pay half salary to the sanitation employees, if they want the locality to be clean. For sure these words from LIT is a burden even for the residents as not all of them will be well settled and maximum of the families will end up empty pocket by month end. The fact is that the raising commodity rates are turning things from bad to worse.

However LIT is sure of its decision and has also sent letters to presidents of all the residential blocks in SBS Nagar informing cancellation of the previous contract for sanitation. According to the residents, the letter clearly said that “residents will pay half salary to the sanitation employees in their respective areas”. Also the residents are annoyed with such kind of regulation passed on by the LIT authority and they also replied saying they are not ready to do the same at any cost. Residents have decided to sit for a protest if the situations turns worse in the locality.
