Alien themed garden in Sahakarnagar

Pune Municipal CorporationThe Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is to develop a garden based on the Hollyword movie ‘Avatar‘ in Sahakarnagar.

The civic body has appointed Mr Nitin Chandrakant Desai, a famous art director to work on the project. The project includes erecting life-size statues of characters from the science-fiction movie. Six life-size statues will be erected in the garden within next few months.

Abu Bagul, corporator, said that the PMC has a budget of Rs 20 lakh for the project which will be developed inside the Vasantrao Bagul garden.

The Vasantrao Bagul garden already has a musical fountain with a laser show and Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi auditorium but to attract more tourists they have come up with the ” Alien garden“. There were around 12 lakh people who have visited the garden in last one and half year.

The PMC garden department has developed 62 garden and 5 nullah parks. More 35 new gardens and 10 more nullah parks are in the pipeline.
