Bangalore- Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar has directed the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) to allot sites to applicants only if infrastructure facilities have been created in the layouts.

Half of the work on providing basic facilities has been done in the BDA’s newly formed layouts. The remaining work has been planned to be completed by December 2014.

The new layouts include JP Nagar 8th and 9th stages, Sir MV Layout, Banashankari 6th stage, Anjanapura, Arkavathi Layout, Nagarbhavi and Chandra Layout.

Kempegowda Layout’s plan has been approved and final notification to acquire land has also been issued. Site aspirants can submit applications in 2013, he added. Notification has been issued for Dr Shivaram Karanth layout too.

Private developers provide all facilities first and then sell sites in the layout, while government has failed to provide facilities in layouts which it has formed. The cost is lesser for privately developed layouts than government developed ones.
