Bangalore blames Telangana Strike for Power Cuts

Ramagundam thermal power station in Andhra Pradesh and two of its units were shut down as they never received the coal supply due to the strike hit at Singareni Collieries Company Ltd which is also in A.P. The frequent power cuts in Bangalore have lead the Bangaloreans blame on the Telangana Strike which is ongoing in Andhra Pradesh.

Bescom managing director P Manivannan reported saying that Bangalore is facing power shortage of nearly 1000MW and henceforth the frequent load shedding is happening in the city. He added on saying that this crucial situation should improve at the earliest. However the areas in the eastern and southern parts of Bangalore faced power cuts due to heavy rain over the weekend.
Two units of Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS) have seemed to be shut down. Meanwhile not only because of Telangana Strike but also due to annual maintainance work and barring gear problem in these power stations were the other problems.
