Banjara Hills: Land disputes remain unresolved
The land disputes in the prime area of Banjara Hills remain unresolved from decades, between government and private parties that claim to be its owners.
Up to 140 acres of vacant land in different parts of Banjara Hills worth as much as 3,000 crores is under litigation presently.
Claimants of these properties are descendents of families, who claim that the land was gifted to them during Nizam’s period. Some of them even claimed that they had bought these plots during those times and have even shown documents in which it is stated that the land belonged to them. Various related cases are still being fought in the Hyderabad’s courts over past many years.
Another land issue in Banjara Hills was the formation of housing societies. The government is trapped in legal fights with societies over 26 acres of land. Also, a plot located on Road No 2 Banjara Hills and a huge plot on Road No.14 near Indo-American Cancer hospital is under litigation.
