BDA decided on not giving permission to conditional building plans
The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has decided to stop the approval of conditional building plan with immediate effect to check the illegal construction of buildings under its jurisdiction, according to Housing and Urban Development Minister Pushpendra Singh Deo.
Singh Deo said the BDA took this decision at its Board meeting in view of large-scale complaints illegal construction of buildings in the capital city due to conditional approval of building plans. He said BDA has decided to construct a four storied residential apartment at an estimated cost of Rs 16 crore in Bhubaneswar to provide houses to 239 slum dwellers spread over Damana, Gadakana and Chandra Sekharpur slums.
The apartment would be constructed under the Slum Dwellers Rehabilitation Project and the fund would be provided out of the State Capital Region Development Fund, he said.
The problem of illegal constructions has been rising these days. In the light of this the city governments have to take some steps in order to do away with any such kind of practices. This is why the BDA has decided that they won’t be giving permission to conditional building plans.
