BDA opposes installing mobile towers on residential buildings
Bangalore- The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) issued notices to 12 property owners in Kengeri for installation of mobile towers on the terrace of their homes.
The authority claims that renting out terrace portion to any telecom company for setting up their mobile towers is in violation of the rule that residential property cannot be used for commercial activity.
If a landowner wants to rent out his terrace space for installing mobile tower then he has to obtain permission to conversion of land usage.
BDA will be conducting the drive across Bangalore and issue notices to landowners who have violated the rules.
Thousands of cell towers have been installed across the city. Many complaints have been lodged by public regarding the health hazards caused due to radioactive emission from the towers. At least now the BDA has taken some measure to listen to the public’s concern.
