BDA to increase cost price of flats
The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has decided to increase the prices of two- and three-bedroom flats at the seven housing projects it has taken up in the City. It has cited the increased cost of construction as the reason.
A senior BDA official said that the prices of flats already constructed at Kommaghatta, Alur, Kanminike and Vallegerahalli localities had been increased. While the price of two BHK flats has been increased from Rs 600 to Rs 900 per square foot, three BHK flats will now cost Rs 1,150 per sq ft, up from Rs 900 per sq ft.
This is being done because of the increase in the cost of construction. Besides, we have changed the interiors in flats, leading to a jump in the cost,” the official said. But the facilities will be on a par with other apartment complexes — landscaping, parking, playground, rainwater harvesting, and solar panels and so on. People who will get flats in the second lottery to be held later will have to pay extra.
The price hike is being done in order to meet the increased cost constructions.
