Cauvery water supply to new BBMP wards delayed
Along wait for Cauvery water in residences gets longer!
Supply of Cauvery water was promised to newly added BBMP areas by March 2012, but it looks like it will be delivered by June.
The Cauvery Water Supply Scheme (CWSS) Stage IV Phase II was to cater the needs of around 26 lakh Bangaloreans.
The reason for the delay has been summed up as complexity in the project and also credited Namma metro as another reason.
The Rs 3383.70 crore worth project funded by Japan International Co-operation Bank (JICA) was to bring 500 million litres per day (MLD) of water in the city.
