CBI conducts raids on housing loan scam
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has conducted raids in Allahabad and several other cities of Uttar Pradesh pertaining to alleged irregularities in sanctioning of housing loan by a nationalised bank official.
Sources from CBI said, raids were conducted in Allahabad, Lucknow and Sant Ravidas Nagar (Bhadohi) in connection with the scam related to alleged misappropriation of more than Rs one crore in the name of granting housing loans.
The CBI had registered a case against six persons, including the then Manager of the bank branch here. The properties of some of the persons in the case were raided as part of the investigations, the sources said.
