Chennai Government to provide basic needs for BPL families

Chennai government is now concentrated on fulfilling the basic needs of the Below Poverty Line (BPL) families in the city. Nearly 52.58 lakh families have been listed under the BPL family list according to the recent survey. Municipal Administration and Water Supply (MAWS) department was ordered to provide the basic needs like; house service connections, timely water supply and it has also asked the water supply wing to estimate the actual cost for all these requirements and the same is said to be granted by the state government.

Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage (TWAD) board has ordered the collectors to grasp concerned information within the span of one month. The plan includes to provide public foundations in a group for the homeless BPL families and for the one’s who already have will be provided with add on facilities like; proper water supply, dumping pits, construction of toilets and also proper power supply. The government is working on the tough times to make these families survive blissfully, henceforth have decided to fulfill all the services within a span of five years of time. The water supply and the municipal wing has decided to put forth these orders much before December 10th, 2011.
