Chennai records maximum property search above Rs 1 crore

Real estate ChennaiChennai – A survey was performed to find out the city with maximum number of online searches for luxury properties above Rs 1 crore. Chennai took the first place, followed by Delhi -NCR and the third position was occupied by Bangalore.

This study was carried out on the basis of number of searches and visits on a real estate website in 2011 and 2012. It took in consideration the luxury real estate market in India. This survey also focused on the trends in premium property listings in the last two years.

The premium real estate property market is on boom across the cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune and Ahmedabad. Thus this survey was performed across these eight cities. The research was also narrowed to property priced between Rs 1 crore and Rs 15 crore. The online search for premium properties between Rs 4 and 6 crore increased by 64 percent in 2012 as compared to 2011. Chennai recorded maximum property search above Rs 1 crore.

According to this survey, few areas in Chennai where properties can be find in the range of Rs 1 crore to Rs 6 crore are Neelankarai and Abhiramapuram. It is HSR layout and Shanti Nagar in Bangalore, EM Bypass and Malda in Kolkata, Sainikpuri and Attapur in Hyderabad, Kothrud and Baner Road in Pune, Punjabi Bagh East in Delhi-NCR, Vile Parle East and Bandra West in Mumbai and Ambli and Odhav in Ahmedabad.

Properties in Chennai in the range of Rs 4 crore to Rs 6 crore can be seen in Boat Club Road. It is Vijaya Bank Colony in Bangalore, Ballygunge in Kolkata, Domalguda in Hyderabad, Som Vihar in Delhi-NCR, Model Colony and Aundh in Pune, Bandra West and Nalasopara East in Mumbai and Naranpura and Juhapura in Ahmedabad.

It was also found that in 2011, premium villas were highly searched (around 58 percent) while in 2012, plots were more searched (around 55 percent).
