BBMPThe Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is the administrative body responsible for the civic and infrastructural assets of the Greater Bangalore metropolitan area

Residents staying in localities like Thanisandra, Marathahall, Halsoor, Koramangala, HSR Layout and Begur which comes under BBMP limit are facing problems like water shortage and sanitation facilities, improper drainage, sewage problem and the traffic gets worst during peak hours.

Moreover in peripheral areas like Horamavu, Yeshwanthpur, Begur, Utarahalli and Rajarajeswari Nagar are facing problems like no proper roads, lots of problems due to blocked sewage lines and overflowing manhole, area are filled with garbage and garbage waste and the list continues.

Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike is trying hard to solve all the civic issues. The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike has began the door-to door survey on waste segregation. In the coming days, BBMP is planning to prepare a list of pourakarmikas, contractors and garbage truck numbers and give it to the Resident Welfare Association members.

The door to door survey will start from BBMP South Zone consists of 44 wards. The BBMP is planning to have 31 zero garbage wards, which means no waste from here will go to landfills. BBMP is also trying to remodel storm water drains so that the city did not get flooded during rainy season.

The Silicon Valley of India attracts a huge floating population.People from all over the country flock to the city seeking jobs or academic excellence. Due to the rapid influx in population, the real estate market encompassing both the rental as well as the buying market witnessed a rapid growth. Unfortunately the city’s infrastructure did not grow to support the growing population.Hopefully with the advent of the metro, congestion in the city would drastically decrease, as the accessibility to peripheral areas would improve.
