Panaji- On 12th December, Chief Minister of Goa Manohar Parrikar pointed out the delay in the finalization of any bill on the Goa khazan land development board by the cabinet and irrigation department.

He dismissed all the charges made by NGOs regarding the proposed bill in favor of land sharks and defended himself by informing about the circulation of draft bill for public comments which will then be forwarded to the government for consideration.

Irrigation department chief engineer S Nadkarni highlighted the advantages of this proposed bill including improvement of agriculture on khazan land in Goa.

Nadkarni further stated more benefits of this bill including land acquisition and the administration is taken care by ministers and bureaucrats. In case of land acquisition bill, it gives power to the khazan land development board to acquire the land.

She then defended herself by pointing out the misinterpretation of bill by others and added that this bill is completely in the interest of agriculture in state.
