Compensation needed- DLF Customers demand
DLF now is in the waters of roughness, and the climes aren’t being favorable enough. The troubles are mammoth like, especially when owners of apartments in three of the projects owned by the company in Gurgaon have started raising voices, demanding compensations. Home owners are at the neck of the company since a long time, four years to be precise. They have now formed a union and have deiced to file for action and seek compensation which they say is rightfully theirs.
The compensation if won by the owners of flats across three projects in Gurgaon would mean crores as losses for the company, DLF. Three projects, namely DLF’s Belaire, Park Place and Magnolia are under fire at the moment, with the apartment owners screaming hoarse and the Competition Appellate Tribunal keeping a close watch on them.
The Competition Appellate Tribunal dismissed the builders plea in 2011 and a fine of INR 630 crores has been slapped as well on them by the Competition Commission of India in the same year as well, with regard to abuse of position in the city’s suburb as a dominant player. This is what gave the owners an impetus to rise to the occasion and seek compensation for the same.
DLF has been asked to cough up the penalty at the earliest, which according to sources would be an annual turnover of around seven percent. In addition to that, around 9 percent interest too would be imposed on the original order as well.
