Confusion over RWH installation deadline!
The deadline for installing rain water harvesting (RWH) systems in all buildings was over December 31st.
Out of 55,000 buildings, 33,338 units have complied with the deadline. Does it mean the other 20000 units have to face water disconnections?
As per reports, Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) had plans of extending the deadline to March 31st 2012. But Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) alleged they did not get any letter from the former and will stick to the previous deadline.
The sewage board is yet to get any government order from the BBMP and will continue with the disconnection drive after getting the data of RWH installations.
BWSSB has also alleged that it will not disconnect watter supply for genuine cases.
