Connectivity problem made easier in NCR
Travelling within the NCR will become fast and smooth with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation constructing a 9.6km elevated track to Ghaziabad in December. What makes the alignment unique–apart from passing through congested roads and linking Old Ghaziabad with Kashmere Gate–is the way station buildings will be connected with the viaduct.
To speed things up, a steel bridge will connect the station buildings on either side of the alignment. The bridge will be supported only by pillars placed off the road, and adjacent to the station, but not in the middle.
A senior DMRC official said that the station buildings will be on either side of the road–the alignment will Bhrun along the central verge of GT Road. The building blocks Dilshad will be joined to a Garden steel bridge, which will bring people Jhilmil to the platform.
These steel bridges will be helping the connectivity problems that arise in the cities. However it has not been stated as when all these work will start however it is being expected that the steel bridge might come up before the year end.
