DDA constructed flats have very few 2BHK and 3BHK flats

No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Aug 27, 2014

The Delhi Development Authority’s housing scheme scheduled to start on September 1 has very few newly constructed two and three-bedroom flats on offer. The DDA admits that its focus is not on building affordable houses for the middle class anymore.

But it promises its ambitious ‘land pooling policy’ would more than make up for this loss. The DDA’s 2014 housing scheme is it’s biggest to date with 25,034 flats on offer but a huge chunk of it is one bedroom flats. It accounts for 22,627 flats in the scheme, apart from Janta flats and flats for the economically weaker sections (EWS).

There are 561 two-bedroom and just 21 three-bedroom flats. Among the newly constructed flats that are part of this scheme, there is not a single three-bedroom flat. The Delhi Development Authority in the past years have had very few housing schemes however in this housing scheme they had plans to belt out houses in affordable flats and hence they have very few two bedroom flats or three bedroom flats to offer. These housing schemes have been held over the past few months.
