DDA enquires about illegal sale and purchase of land
Delhi Development Authority (DDA) was asked by the Delhi High Court to immediately inquire about the “illegal” sale or purchase of residential plots that has been allotted as per the scheme of large-scale acquisition, development and disposal of land.
A bench heading by Chief Justice D Murugesan has asked the Vice-Chairman of the DDA to look into the matter. V K Jain, a member of the same bench has also questioned the petition which states that the Vice chairman has asked DDA to look into the matter of illegal sale and purchase without any further delay.
Delhi witnessed a case that has filed the PIL, demanding for CBI inquiry regarding the large- scale illegal sale and purchase of plots by the allottees under the scheme and other property that has been acquired by the DDA.
There is a condition in the scheme, which states that the allottee cannot sell their plot for a specific time of duration while and they are allied not to be followed and allot plots that are already being sold or purchased freely without any restriction. It was also added that the DDA approval is required prior to such transactions, which is not being followed.
To sell the plots, they need No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the DDA. Whereas the petition says, many such plots have been sold without taking such NOC, which leads to loss of crores of rupees for them. Even the sellers are also not paying any money for taking NOC.
