DDA housing scheme lottery to be one of the biggest lotteries ever
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) housing scheme is a big lottery for Delhiites, and applicants, it appears, are not taking any chances. After opening to a huge response from the public, the sale of forms for the DDA housing scheme 2014 has hit a slump.
The reason is the beginning of the ‘Pitra Paksh’ or Shraddh, a period that is considered inauspicious by most Hindus for any purchase or deal in land or property, among others. The housing scheme, which was launched on September 1, saw a tremendous rush that first resulted in the DDA website crashing half an hour before the scheme was launched.
The website had received five lakh hits by 9 am that day and crumbled under the unprecedented traffic. The sale of forms too had been brisk in the first week despite not being available at many empanelled bank branches. The sale of forms had peaked on September 8 — 1.5 lakh were sold in a single day.
This housing scheme lottery that is going to take place by the DDA is going to be one of the biggest housing scheme lotteries ever.
