Delhi metro to pause for Beating Retreat ceremony
New Delhi: Five metro stations will remain closed for few hours today on account of the Beating Retreat ceremony in Delhi, said an official of Delhi Metro.
The metro stations that will be closed are namely, Central Secretariat, Patel Chowk, Khan Market, Race Course and Udyog Bhavan. They will be closed from 3 pm to 6.30 pm today.
Beating Retreat ceremony will be held in Vijay Chowk at the foot of Raisina Hill, opposite Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The Rajiv Chowk metro station on Line 2 (Jahangirpuri – HUDA City Centre) will be opened for the passenger service, said the official. But passengers interchange facility from Line 2 to Line 6 (Central Secretariat – Badarpur) and vice versa will be available at Central Secretariat.
Passenger services will be available on Line 6 only from Badarpur to Jawaharlal Nehru stadium. Once the ceremony is completed, all the closed metro stations will be reopened.
