Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor gets go ahead

Delhi Mumbai CorridorThe UP government is to sign the state support agreement (SSA) with the center for a multi-crore Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) project in a three day international summit in Agra.

Anil kumar Gupta, UP’s infrastructure and industrial development commissioner declared that the agreement will be signed by the state government and Union Ministry of Commerce very soon. Also a shareholding agreement will be signed along with the Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor to take forward the project.

The project includes setting up of seven investment and 13 industrial regions between Jawaharlal Nehru post in Mumbai and Dadri in Greater Noida and will pass through two investment regions of UP – Greater Noida and Meerut-Muzaffarnagar.

This project is crucial for UP as the proposed east-west corridor merges at Khurja which lies in Uttar Pradesh. It will also help the farmers, of east, to ship their products to Mumbai and far places.

This project also proposes the development of Bodaki railway station, Dadri-Vallabhgarh railway station, and Greater Noida-Faridabad expressway.

Not only this, logistic park/township and an auto-mart are also proposed. The authority also identified that there will be a power plant set up in this region.

Already 2500 acres of land is dedicated for this project of which 500 acres will be allotted to Greater Noida alone and the total development will boost up UP state industrial development corporation (UPSIDC).

According to the blueprint of the project, the center will invest around Rs. 3000 crore in the region and it will include the setting up food, IT, electronics and auto industries and most importantly this project will create 12 lakh jobs in the state.
