NDMC focuses on pending projects in Delhi
After the annual budget presentation today, New Delhi Municipal Corporation realised that they failed to announce any new project in this year’s budget of Rs. 2,021.57 crore.
The corporation will focus on completing the old projects in Delhi-NCR and few projects which are pending since the Commonwealth Games.
The Connaught place redevelopment project which started long back before the Commonwealth Games, is expected to complete by the end of March-April as per the new estimates of NDMC.
There is no hike in property tax of the council in the VVIP areas. The council is concerned about completing all the old works and listed out fresh deadlines for the pending projects and also to focus on few civic issues and maintenance like water pipelines and deep well hand pumps.
The total estimate budget the corporation hopes to earn is Rs. 356.91 crore revenue in the fiscal year 2013-14,whereas the expenditure is Rs. 2,021.57 crore for the year.
CP is of one of the oldest place and has gone through several plan revisions which included slashing of the budget and shelving an underground parking and subway project. This projects was about Rs. 70 crore but with time and the revised plans the budget went up to Rs. 650 crore and already Rs. 296 crore has been spent.
According to the budget even works on laying concrete roads in Lodhi Colony, Sarojini Nagar, Bharti Nagara which were pending are expected to be completed by this financial year.
