Delhi’s garbage to spoil the festive mood

No Comments Sub Category:Civic Issues,Delhi-NCR,Municipality Posted On: Oct 22, 2012

The capital city is witnessing garbage issue and  Delhi’s municipal corporations appear to be in crisis over the sanitation factor in the city during the festival season. The city garbage has increased by 1,000 metric tonnes a day.

Expect the waste-to-energy plant in Okhla, the city lacks any arrangement to the disposing of garbage.

Currently garbage is being dumped at sites in Bhalaswa, Okhla and Ghazipur which are already filled with garbage and are soon to shut down.

East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) commissioner SS Yadav has asked officials to look for a site in Shahdara (North) for a waste-management plant.
