DLF residents stand against illegal construction

DLF phase IV  residents have come together against an illegal under-construction, seven-floor traffic police building in their area, which was originally kept for a police post.

This building which is situated at the corner close to the 18 meter road is constructed by the Gurgaon Police.

It is said that the Residents Welfare Association raised the issue of constructing a traffic police building in the area last year itself. The important concern that the RWA has is of the traffic congestion that will happen once this building is operational.

Although RWA filed a written complaint to the Haryana Police Housing Corporation (HPHC) against constructing this building; the construction is in full swing with the basement almost complete.
The residents of DLF phase IV say that they came to know about the original plan only after a Right to Information was filed. However, the Haryana police say that the plan for the traffic building was long made and the work has been happening for some time now.

The complaint was filed against this construction of the building on this plot in Gurgaon to HPHC, but it was shocking and disheartening for the residents as the authorities did not take any action against the issue.

According to the state government rule, generally land for construction is offered with specific plots. Although police told that the plan to build traffic building in DLF IV is an old proposal, where work has already started.

RWA of DLF phase IV has requested the Department of Town and Country Planning and Haryana Urban Development Authority to organise a survey to check the reports and the facts of the issue.
