Noida Authority to construct Rs 2.20 crore foot overbridge
To bring in relief to the pedestrians crossing Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, the Noida Authority has finally decided to construct a foot over-bridge (FOB) along Sectors 44 and 125 of worth Rs 2.20 crore.
The Authority has appointed a consultant to create the design for the foot bridge.
According to an official, the tender will be released after they finalize the design and budget. The project is expected to complete within three months once it’s started.
The FOB has been proposed to be 225 m long and height of 21.5 feet.
According to the project engineer, stairways will be built from all four sides of the bridge and a special provision will be made for pedestrians to cross the service lane to the FOB.
According to the engineer, keeping in mind the residential population of the area and the working population, it is estimated that at least 5000 pedestrians will be using the FOB daily.
The administration has been under immense pressure from locals and civic representatives to make this foot over-bridge. This project had been proposed almost one-and-half year ago but got mired in several delays.
The Authority is also planning to build FOBs in two more busy areas of Noida- in Gandhi Smarak Inter College in Sector 22 and near Flex industries in Sector 4.These areas have been studied by the experts recently.
As of now, three detailed projects have been finalized and another 13 places have been identified in the city which need FOBs urgently.
