Environmental clearance required for Night Safari Project
To fast-track the Rs 700 crore Night Safari project in Gautam Budh Nagar, the Greater Noida Authority has decided to depend in a consultant to handle the environment impact assessment (EIA) of the project.
The EIA consultant, to be appointed by the first week of September, will be responsible for obtaining the necessary environment clearances (EC) for the proposed project. According to officials, EIA has also been made mandatory under the Environmental Protection Act, 1986, for selected categories of developmental activities involving investments of Rs 50 crore and above.
It is a formal process to predict the environmental consequences of a proposed project prior to its implementation. This work will probably take some time before it is completed. The necessary environment clearances and other needed documents generally add up taking a lot of time. This is generally why most of the companies get themselves an EIA consultant who could handle the work and finish as fast as possible. Probably this is going to take some month’s time after which the project work will take the speed. The Night Safari Project is really going to be a prestigious project in Greater Noida.
