Residential projects in Gautam Budh Nagar continues to be affordable

Affordable housing projectNoida: Despite many challenges being faced by housing projects in Gautam Budh Nagar because of the land row for an inordinate amount of time, the region continues to be an affordable housing hub.

The Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway authorities had recently released housing project forms for 12,000 flats for which they witnessed overwhelming response. Following this, developers in the UP-NCR region have also started advertising their projects. 

In order to benefit middle-class buyers, the authorities have shown interest in affordable housing concept and 12,000 flats are likely to be constructed by 2016. The budget estimated by the UP govt for this project is Rs 150 crore and the cost of each flat will be between Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh. The authority has already sanctioned land for the project and approvals are also in place. Shortly, the construction work will be started, said the CEO of Greater Noida Authority.

The affordable housing project will be developed in Sector Mu-2 and Sector 10 of Greater Noida and Sector 18 in Yamuna Expressway. There will be 7,000 flats in Greater Noida and another 5,000 flats in Yamuna Expressway area. The low-rise blocks will be equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities like shopping complex, parking, community centre, nursing homes, schools, playground and parks.

Following the steps taken by the UP government, several private developers including Supertech, Orris, Wave Group, Amrapali, etc have decided on affordable housing units in Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and Yamuna Expressway belt. 

Wave Group has recently launched its affordable housing project ‘Wave City’ with unit price ranging between Rs 13 lakh to 18 lakh. The developer sold 1,000 units within three days of the launch. Orris Infrastructure has also launched affordable housing units along Yamuna Expressway with cost ranging between Rs 14 lakh to Rs 40 lakh with areas between 525 sq feet and 1,550 sq feet.
