False promise made builder pay

No Comments Sub Category:Community,Court Orders,Legal Posted On: Dec 16, 2011

It is no strange news when we hear a builder promising something and not providing it afterwards!

To teach a lesson to these type of builders, residents of Bangalore took ahead a step and made them pay.

Builders Sumadhura Constructions, whose Sumadhura Shangrilla Apartments at Mahadevapura had 84 owners, paid 100% amount on water connection.

They had collected Rs 42000 from each owner with a promise. However, they made a false promise on giving water connection and started avoiding the residents to refund the amount back.

To this, residents approached the consumer court and filed a case. A notice has been finally slapped on the builders and now they have been asked to pay the full amount with interest and other charges within ten days.
