Farmers end protest after meeting Central ministers

After the meeting with the group of Central ministers, the draft land acquisition bill for which the farmers protested against was called off.

Government allowed to form a committee to look after the demand of the farmers demonstrating in Delhi since long time under the banner of Kishan Khel Mazdoor Mahapanchayat with a definite timelines.

The meeting took place in the presence of agriculture minister Sharad Pawar and Rural Development minister Jairam Ramesh along with 19 delegates of the Mahapanchayat accompanied by six central ministers.

Yudhvir Singh of the Mahapanchayat said that it is the first step towards progress for better livelihoods for the farmers. There will be one more meeting  in details which will be based on the demands of the farmers including the timelines which will get fixed soon.

To fix the deadline for various committees to be constituted, the farmers delegation will be meeting the rural development minister.
