Five cellphone towers in Greater Noida shut down
Noida- With the latest drives carried out by every city to remove the cellphone towers, Greater Noida Authority has already shutdown operations of about five of them which were situated in schools and hospitals.
The awareness of harmful radiations emitted from the towers has made this drive even more effective.
Prior to the shutting down of the towers, there were several notices sent to the company owning the towers and the negligent actions of the company owners led to the shutting down of the cellphone towers.A drive initiated by the authority in October sorted out a list of sensitive areas with towers installed in them. Similarly the drive initiated by the Allahabad high court had imposed a ban on installing mobile towers in residential areas.
The three cellphone towers located in Kailash Hospital, Sharda Hospital and Shree Krishna Lifeline Hospital were shut down followed by a shutdown of the two towers in playschool in Sector Alpha-I. The negative impact of the radiations from the tower has been put light upon, especially in hospitals and schools. However, to ensure that cellular services are not disturbed due to shutdown of operations of the five towers, the authority has requested service providers to re-route traffic of calls from alternate towers.
