Gas tanker accidents on NH 48 fright residents
Increasing gas tanker accidents near National Highway 48 has been worrying the residents in the neighbourhood.
Recently, a gas tanker met with an accident near Hole Thimmenahalli in Alur taluk and on such events it is advised not to start cooking gas.
The police and Fire and Emergency Service personnel diverted the traffic and advised the residents not to cook food and use mobile phones till the tanker was removed.
As liquefied petroleum gas is heavier than air, it will flow on the floor and might start any mishap when it come in contact with any inflammable device.
There are witnesses of heavy traffic on the Bangalore- Mangalore road. Officials have suggested that laying a pipeline between Mangalore and gas units will solve the problem.
