Geo-fencing for manholes
The residents are spared of to bear stinking sewage overflowing form the pumping station.
However, the situations will remain same no more, as the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) will soon be ‘geo-fencing’ all the sewage pumping stations.
This Off-Site Real Time Monitoring System will be monitoring the level of sewage in the manholes.
Once the geo-fencing is fixed, as per the rise in sewage level the alerts will be sent to the registered mobile numbers and a huge screen will be set up at all the pumping stations to be monitored.
Chennai will soon have this system implemented, for now the board has invited tenders and has seek three months time to settle and commence the works.
