Ghaziabad likely to become resident-friendly
Ghaziabad- The authorities of Ghaziabad are planning to give a new look to the city in order to make it resident-friendly.
The city which was noted for pollution and crime for long time is likely to transform its appearance in the next few years.
The city administration is planning to give an entire new look to the entry and exit points to the city as these are the main points which would reflect the character of the city.
According to Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) vice-chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav, the entrance to a city has to be attractive to visitors because it creates the first impression about the place. In order to attract the visitors, the GDA is planning to remodel all the entry points of the city, he added.
Though Ghaziabad city has many positive factors compared to Delhi, the difference is not being noticed by the visitors. For example, there are wide roads in Ghaziabad. Travelling and residing in the city would be a pleasure if proper law enforcement is done, alleged Yadav. He informed that the renovation work at Maharajpur border will be completed within two weeks.
GDA is also planning to deploy private guards to assist traffic police and streamline vehicular movement in the city since the Ghaziabad police are presently experiencing shortage of staff strength. Deployment of trained private guards will be helpful in effective maintenance of the traffic.
The vice-chairman asked for innovative ideas from developers of the city with regard to bringing about change in the image of the city. There are several malls, multiplexes and residential areas in the city, but for some reasons they are going unnoticed.
The recently built bridge across the Hindon has been very helpful to daily commuters. Another point of the city where there are frequent traffic jams is Mohan Nagar T-point. However, the authorities are working towards making it chaos-free. At present, the GDA is welcoming ideas from people to make the city beautiful.
