Government funds not needed- NBCC aims high
Who said skyscrapers aren’t for the nations capital? CP or Connaught Place, Delhi would now be home to some of the tallest multi-storey dwellings, give it two to three years, says a source. This would be much on the lines of what Noida and Gurgaon have, with rapid urbanisations taking place. With help from the state sponsored and managed “National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC)” and sans the need for government funds altogether, modernisation and redevelopment plans are on the plate.
Optimum land parcels, says a source would be used for fund raising, and the plans in mind is to have more highrise commercial buildings across such surplus land, total of 16.6 acres and on a 30 year lease for multinational companies, government sectors and public sectors respectively. The redevelopment and construction would be done to outshine the famous Municipal Corporation of India quarters in Delhi, standing at a height of 24 floors. As of now this is the tallest building in the nations capital.
There are many MNC’s waiting for the proposal to come through, and to avail of affordable and decent office space in the nations capital. The plan of NBCC is to have a path created, which would speak of the nations capital in high regards, along with conglomerating the nature of surrounding areas, where such highrises are the norm.
Across the zone of Lutyens bungalow, authorities have decided to raze and rebuild structures sans completely removing the heritage values, says a source. The government press would be modernised and not a single penny would be taken from the government.
