Greater Noida farmers allow link road development
Problems regarding the eight-lane link road to Noida has been resolved by the Greater Noida Authority following a meeting with the farmers of Greater Noida (west).
As per the officials, the halted project will be completed within next April and this is only signal-free connectivity to Noida, Delhi and Greater Noida.
Farmers of Devla, Khairpur Gurjar and Maicha villages met a committee of the Authority led by OSD Yogendra Yadav to sort out the grievances. Although, earlier this year, NCR Planning Board has approved the Greater Noida Master Plan 2021, the farmers are still opposing the authorities’ decision to resume work on the 130m road.
The farmers demand that unless the authorities disburse compensation and allot 10 percent development plots and enhance the rural areas, they will not allow the development work.
According to the authority officials, they have already started the development work in Devla and Khodna Khurd village. They have constructed roads laying down new sewer networks, building schools, installing streetlights, etc in these areas and this development work will be taken for more in eight villages. Also the disbursement of the compensation will be completed soon.
The road is 130m wide and a link road being constructed between Parthala-Khanjarpur in Sector 22 Sirsa-Kasna in Greater Noida are still stalled for over an year due to this land row issue.
After the meeting with the authority farmers have agreed not to obstruct the work of link road any more.
