Green buildings: Buyer sentiments improve for a greener tomorrow

No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Aug 12, 2014

The new government’s intent to develop 100 “Smart Cities” has created quite a buzz in the realty sector. The government allocated Rs 7,060 crore for these in the Budget last month. The use of information and communications technologies (ICTs) in most of the smart cities will have to adhere to green building norms and reduce carbon emissions.

The expectation is that the focus on smart cities is also going to propel the construction of sustainable buildings. Looking at the condition of the non-renewable sources of energy, it is mandatory that the government starts taking measures to harness the renewable sources of energy to ensure that the depletion of fossil fuels can be mitigated in the near future.

The realty business is getting more organised and professional and the consumers too are now more aware of the new-age technological advancements.Vikas Gupta the director of Earth Infrastructure Ltd stated that the buyers and corporate occupiers are now seeking out green projects. They have fully understood the benefits of living in a green, eco-friendly and environmentally sustainable space.

The developers are ready to fulfil the aspirations of the buyers, who are not just looking at price points, but are also looking at quality projects that are being built after incorporating the elements of a greener project.
