Green quotient falling flat in Bangalore!

The Bangalore city was once known for its greenery! Today, one can only see rapid growth of high-rise buildings and very less green quotient.

Its not that there is complete drought in greens, the green quotient which once claimed the title “Garden City” is completely lost.

According to a recent study traced by Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore city has lost 66 per cent of its green vegetation, 74 per cent of water bodies and there is rapid increase in the built-up area by 584 per cent.

The urban growth since last five years has turned the environment conditions worse in Bangalore city.

What next? The BBMP wing, residents of apartments n Bangalore and the government together should encouraging the growth of green!
