GUDA is all set to improve housing conditions in Gandhinagar
The recent development plan for the state capital of Gujarat was proposed by the Gandhinagar Urban Development Authority (Guda). It talks about special policies to attract builders for more housing in the city. Discounts in jantri rates; special areas earmarked for housing projects for lower income, middle, and higher income groups will be taken up in the coming years.
Special affordable housing zone where existing residential buildings will be allowed to construct an additional floor are also a part of the policies proposed to attract housing to the state capital. Along with the urban development department, Guda will take up redevelopment of government housing which is very necessary as the housing complexes are in dilapidated states. They are posing threats to the residents.
In order to encourage affordable housing projects in the city, Guda has proposed discounts of 10 % to 40 % on jantri rates. This is specially done depending on the size of a dwelling. For instance, structures up to 50 square metres in size will get a discount of 10 % while those of 80 square meters or above in size will get a discount of up to 40 %.
This move was welcomed by all, the developers as well the citizens of the state and the state capital.
