Gujarat Tourism to Take Off with Vibrant Summit
The Vibrant Gujarat summit is gathering headlines across the nation as the state’s CM Anandiben Patel tours the country attracting both participants and investors.
The event is also speculated to provide a major boost to the tourism industry in Gujarat. Thousands of national and international participants and delegates are expected to grace the event, and this has rocketed the call for short-haul trips within the state.
Manish Sharma, who is the chairman of the Gujarat Tourism Development Society (GTDS) as well as the owner of Akshar Travels, claims that his agency is already handling more than 5,000 bookings for tours in January within the state. Akshar Travels is the official travel partner of Vibrant Gujarat Summit and is taking care of the transport arrangements of foreign delegates.
According to him, many delegates who are arriving for the PravasiBharatiya Divas and the Vibrant Gujarat Summit will be checking in for a short tour within. He says that out of the enquiries checked, over 25 percent are from foreigners.Apart from this, January is expected to usher in hordes of visitors to popular destinations like Gir, Somnath and Dwaraka.
The rapid rise in bookings is believed to exceed well over 20,000. Starting from PravasiBharatiya Divas, which is from January 7 to 9, the Vibrant Gujarat Summit will follow from January 11 to 13th. According to this schedule, Akshar Travels is organising Gujarat circuit tours between January 7th and 20th.
Sharma said that, during that period, they will be releasing two luxury coaches from Ahmedabad daily. These buses will cover Junagadh, Somnath, Kutch, Dwarka, Sasan-Gir, Nalsarovar, Jamnagar and Ahmedabad.
Since the RannUtsav in Kutch starts in December, tourism in Gujarat will take flight with bird enthusiasts flocking to the state to catch migratory birds in winter. Moreover, the Kite Festival too is happening during the same time, which would further increase tourist activity.
