Gurgaon residents risk their life as lifts lack safety device

1 Comment Sub Category:Apartment News,Awareness,Gurgaon,Health,Municipality Posted On: Apr 16, 2012

Residents in Gurgaon are at risk as the lifts in the city are not installed with safety device.

It was found that lifts in residential spaces, shopping malls, commercial buildings, etc are not safe and not fitted with the automatic rescue device (ARD).

In 2009, the device was made mandatory to be installed but many developers never implemented it.

The builders are not even penalized with Rs 50000 initially and Rs 1000 from there onwards till the device is installed.

This mandatory rule came into being after an IT professional died as his head hit to the roof few years back.

Few developers have to say that they still have not heard of the rule yet.
