HC orders submission of report on BBMP’s civil work within 45 days
The Karnataka High Court has put its trust on independence of the Technical Vigilance Cell under the Commissioner (TVCC) of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and directed the TVCC to submit a report within 45 days on the outcome of the ongoing scrutiny of civil works by BBMP in 25 zones.
The order came in while hearing a batch of public interest litigation petitions seeking inquiry into all the works carried out in the 28 engineering divisions of the BBMP.
There have been suspicions hurled against the cell’s independent authority and cries for probe by CID or other independent bodies but the court has now directed the cell to carry pout a report in a time – bound manner.
