Helicopter lands on high-rise apartment in Bangalore

The Byappanahalli area in Garden city Bangalore was is a state of shock on April 12, 2012! There was an helicopter landed on an high-rise apartment building roof top at Maitre Apartments in the G M Palya near Byappanahalli .

Of course, this comes as shocking news for the citizens of Bangalore indeed! A helicopter pilot met who was under training encountered engine trouble and ended up landing on the rooftop of apartment in Bangalore.

Soon after which the Bangalore Police and fire department personnel, including Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) officials came in rescue of Schweizer helicopter.

The residents of Byappanahalli who are in a state of shock say that they first saw smoke evoking from the apartment rooftop followed by a very loud sound of a helicopter landing.

When asked about the incident, Bangalore Police officials in reply said that the helicopter was supposed to be land up in the nearby airstrip, however due to technical problems in the engine the pilot had no other go but to land it on the apartment rooftop!

The police force also says that further clarifications in concern with this act will be probed by national aviation regulator.
