High Court sends notices to BDA, BBMP
Bangalore- The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) have been sent notices from the Karnataka High Court, with regard to a petition filed by residents of MLA Layout on BEL Road, seeking road connectivity.
Officials of BBMP and BDA, who had submitted a false affidavit were warned by the division bench comprising Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen and Justice B V Nagarathna. The Bench also ordered the chief engineer of BDA to appear before the court in person.
In their petition, the residents have stated that a big apartment project had illegally come up on the road which has hampered the connectivity.
In the previous hearing, the court had directed the BDA to submit an affidavit, as the civic body had promised to build a new road for the benefit of residents. But when the court came to know that it was a false affidavit, it strictly warned the officials.
