High Court to get a hold of illegal properties

high courtNew Delhi-  The Nodal Steering Committee was appointed by the High Court on the unauthorized construction and encroachment  and asked  the deputy commissioners to address the power distribution companies (discoms) and Delhi Jal Board (DJB) in order to disconnect the water and electricity supply. Also the sub-registrar of the zones were not allowed  to register any unauthorized property.

In a recently held meeting of the committee, the Additional Commissioner of South Municipal Corporation addressed regarding the  development of Najafgarh zone in booking properties with unauthorised construction. There were many properties which were booked in 2012 and also that the letters written to the water and electricity supply were not effective.

The deputy commissioners were directed to demolish all the unauthorized constructions. The FIRs which were registered by the building department under the DMC Act were effective against unauthorised constructions and the officials have also encouraged them to file FIRs against owners with illegal properties.
