Himachal CM okays 12 proposals of new industrial units

In the 72nd meeting of the State-Level Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority held in Shimla recently under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, 12 proposals for setting up new industrial units and seven for the expansion and revision of the existing units, with the combined proposed investment of Rs 4,408.64 crore and providing employment to about 2,425 persons have been approved.

The new proposals approved by the authority included Reliance Cement Company Pvt Ltd, which has proposed employment potential of 350 persons and an investment of Rs 3,400.72 crore at Nerwa sub tehsil and Chopal tehsil, Shimla.

Amba Metal Melting Furnace Point, with a proposed investment of Rs 35.99 crore and employment to 54 persons, Himadri Ferro Alloys Pvt Ltd Rs 309.64 crore and employ 520 persons, Barmendra Agro Tech Pvt Ltd Rs 102.06 crore and employ 100 persons, CDR Agros Rs 33.16 crore and employ 184 persons, Himalaya Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd Rs 150 crore and employ 250 persons were the other projects approved in the meeting.

Abbott Healthcare Pvt Ltd which proposed to invest Rs 87.87 crore and employ 54 persons, DP Chocolates, Unit-II, Rs 72.85 crore and employ 130 persons and M/s Theon Pharmaceuticals Ltd Rs 25.83 crore and employ 173 persons are among the expansion and revised proposals’ projects that were approved. Loreal International Ltd was also given approval in principle for setting up their unit in the state.

The CM also said that considering the increasing demand of land by entrepreneurs who were keen to invest in the state, double-storey buildings construction in the already existing compounds would also be considered. Also present at the meeting was Industry Minister Mukesh Agnihotri.
