Huda to procure machines to clean garbage
To improve the level of sanitation in Gurgaon, the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) is considering to procure machines to clean, collect and dump garbage.
Till now, the streets are cleaned by workers. However, the civic body aims to replace manual cleaning of roads and to improve efficiency in work.
Sources say that a machine costs Rs 30 lakh and can clean a stretch of 15 km in one hour. Besides, it is equipped with a dumper to carry six tonnes waste and will also dispose it at the designated site outside the city limit.
The plan came into offing after the municipal body took opinion of two estate officers (EOs). A company has already given a demonstration of the machine on the MG road.
