Hyderabad suburbs witness retail expansion
Hyderabad’s retail market is gradually expanding to suburbs and peripheral areas as demand for retail space grows in the suburbs. The retail activity is no longer confined to high streets.
As the malls are almost fully occupied, leasing activity is slow in malls in CBD areas but vacancy rates and rents remained stable in existing malls.
Apart from areas like Ameerpet, Banjara Hills, Begumpet and Himayat nagar which have been retail hubs, retail scenario is on the rise in townships like Habsiguda, Gachibowli, Mehdipatnam, Attapur, Dilsukhnagar, Kukatpally, Madinaguda, Tanakal and Shamshabad.
These suburbs are witnessing unprecedented retail development with both MNC and local brands entering the market. Along with the apparels, auto and jewellery showrooms, food chain restaurants like Swagath and Sitara hotel chains have ventures into these suburban townships.
