JDA to forcefully start acquiring land after last date of surrendering

No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Aug 04, 2014

When the deadline for the farmers to surrender their land that had been acquired for the Ring Road Project expires, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has taken a decision to take the lands in possession forcefully. July 31st had been the last date for the land owners to surrender their respective lands and collect the compensation. The JDA had prepared a cheque of Rs 15 crore for the purpose.

After 31st of July, the compensation will be deposited to the court and the land possession will be started by JDA. The work will be carried out under complete police protection in order to avoid protest. As the JDA sources say out of 1,600 hectares that have been acquired for the project the JDA has taken possession of around 1,200 hectares.

Although the protesting farmers have been claiming that JDA is misleading with the facts to avoid paying them the compensation. According to the new Land Acquisition Rehabilitation and Resettlement (LARR) 2011 Act the farmers have to be provided with a compensation only then will they handover their land to the authorities. The actual reason of the delay in acquiring the lands will come up in few days.
